Advisor Link and Advisor Note System (ANS)

Advisor Link

Advisor Link is an online tool for advisors that provides access to academic records. Student data features of Advisor Link include: creation of primary, secondary, and what-if SAPRs; access to printer-friendly versions of student schedules, grade reports, and transfer course records; and language and math placement results.

In addition to providing data on individual students, Advisor Link also grants access to other university and course data. One feature of particular interest to advisors is the ability to generate a report of all open seats in tier I and tier II gen ed courses at any given moment. Advisor Link also provides a link to the Integrated Information Warehouse (IIW). Through this feature, advisors can create real-time major rosters and lists of students admitted to the UA for future semesters, in addition to many other search features.

Advisor Note System (ANS)

One of the most valuable features of Advisor Link is the Advisor Note System (ANS). ANS allows advisors to record interactions with students that can be seen by all other advisors on campus. This tool is especially helpful as students change majors and move from advisor to advisor. ANS also allows advisors to generate aggregate reports about their advising interactions.

In order to gain access to these systems, advisors must make a request through their College UAAC representative. Although ANS is a part of Advisor Link, a specific request for ANS access must be made since this feature of Advisor Link is not available to everyone. Prior to gaining access to Advisor Link or ANS, FERPA training must be completed and documented.

On occasion an advising note is inadvertently entered into the incorrect student record.  The Advising Resource Center (ARC), in collaboration with CCIT, manages the advising note adjustment process.
