AzCAS houses all information pertaining to the transferability of courses amongst colleges and universities in the state of Arizona, and also provides numerous tools to support students as they transfer from one institution to another. Tools of particular interest include:
The CEG indicates how Arizona State University, Northern Arizona University, and the University of Arizona accept transfer coursework from the Arizona community colleges. This is an excellent tool both for students who are planning to transfer to a university and wondering which courses will be transferable, and to current university students who are hoping to fulfill a course requirement at a community college. Many courses listed in the CEG have direct equivalents at the universities, while others are designated "elective credit." Advisors have discretion in determining whether or not elective credit courses can be applied toward degree requirements, in accordance with the policies of their colleges and departments.
AzCAS lists a primary advising contact for every community college and university campus in the state of Arizona.
Major guides list the course requirements for completing Associates degrees at all of the Arizona community colleges. Transfer guides are designed for students who are planning to transfer from a community college to an Arizona university, and list courses that are transferable from one school to the other. Although major and transfer guides do serve as useful resources, they should always be used in consultation with an advisor.
