Minor Description:

Designed to promote a minor level of understanding of health and disease based on public health principles. 

Minor Requirements:
The public health minor consists of 18 units of public health coursework, nine of which must be upper division (300-400 level). Students must have a 2.5 cumulative GPA to declare the minor. The course requirements are listed below:

Nine units of required courses:

  • HPS 178 – Personal Health and Wellness
  • HPS 200 – Introduction to Public Health
  • EPID 309 – Introduction to Epidemiology
Nine units of elective courses:
The remaining units are elective units but must be CPH upper division coursework. Note: Students are able to add themselves to the 300 level courses, but must have advisor permission to be added to 400 level coursework.
