RESOURCES & TOOLS

INTERNATIONAL STUDENTS

International students face the unique challenges of complying with complicated government regulations and acclimating to a new environment and culture. The UA provides extensive support to these students throughout their academic tenures.

INTERNATIONAL STUDENT SERVICES (ISS)

ISS serves as a major support unit for all international students, from the time of admission through graduation. Advisors in ISS organize international student orientation, advise students regarding visa compliance, provide academic and social programming, and serve as student advocates to academic departments and state, local, and federal agencies. International students are responsible for meeting the requirements of their individual visas and should work closely with ISS in order to ensure that they are in compliance with visa regulations.

INTERNATIONAL STUDENT ADMISSIONS

The Office of International Student Admissions manages undergraduate University applications from non-domestic applicants, and also determines the transferability of coursework taken abroad. Students with transfer work from a non-US institution should take their official transcripts to the Office of International Student Admissions.  Prospective graduate students should contact the Graduate College regarding admission to UA graduate programs.

INTERNATIONAL STUDENT SUCCESS GUIDE

ISS has designed an International Student Success Guide to guide students as newcomers to Tucson, the UA, and the United States.  This guide includes helpful resources regarding information about different resources at the university and in Tucson. Adjusting to life in a new country and culture can be challenging, so use this website as your guide. Become familiar with the resources here and take advantage of all that the university and Tucson have to offer.

STUDENT INVOLVEMENT

International students are encouraged to join clubs or organizations that fit their interests and goals to integrate into the community and campus life and make friends at UA.  The Associated Students of The University of Arizona (ASUA) maintains a complete listing of all clubs available to students at UA.
