Student Link
Student Link is a password-protected service that allows students to access personal information and transact university business via the Web. A UA NetID and password are required for login.
Student Link enables students to view and make changes to their academic and personal information. This system has dozens of useful features, which are housed under five major categories:
Academic:
Students can look in the 'Academic' section to view their academic records for past and current semesters, including class schedule, grades, transfer course evaluations, class standing, and book lists. This section also allows students to view their math and second language placement status.
One of the most important features of the 'Academic' section is the ability to view and create Student Academic Progress Reports (SAPRs). SAPRs allow students to see the requirements for their degree programs and what outstanding requirements remain. Students can also generate a "What-If SAPR", which shows how coursework can be applied toward different majors. Deciphering SAPRs can be challenging. Students should refer to their academic advisor or the online "How to Read a DARS SAPR" tutorial for assistance.
Financial:
The 'Financial' section of Student Link allows students to view their account balance, financial aid disbursements, and meal plan transactions. Students are also able to make payments online with check or credit card.
Registration:
This section allows students to add and drop classes via WebReg during open access periods. 'Registration Holds,' including advising or financial blocks that might block registration access, are also found here. A commonly overlooked registration feature is 'Course Query Wizard,' which allows students to search for open seats in classes, according to time offered and requirement fulfilled.
Personal:
This section allows students to update their personal contact information, which is critical in order to ensure that university mail and phone calls are received. Students are also able to place restrictions on what personal information can be released to the public. Some student data is considered to be directory information and can be shared with any outside party unless access is restricted via Student Link.
Preferences:
The 'Preferences' section allows students to manage their Student Link options, including the ability to provide site access to others. By creating a Guest Link account students can give partial access to specified Student Link features while restricting the guest's ability to view others.
