Graduating Seniors
Although graduation generally incites a sense of accomplishment, it can also be a source of confusion. The following services assist graduating seniors as they formally declare their intent to graduate, participate in university ceremonies, and prepare for life after college.
Cap and Gown Information
Students attending the university commencement ceremony are required to wear an official cap and gown, and are responsible for ordering and purchasing these materials in advance of the ceremony. Students may also order graduation announcements and class rings at their discretion.
Career Services
Career Services provides counseling, resume critiquing, and interviewing opportunities to students as they prepare for life after college. The Office of Career Services continues to serve alumni with career counseling for up to two semesters and access to on-campus interviewing for up to four semesters after graduation.
Commencement
Graduating seniors are invited to attend commencement ceremonies both for the university and for their individual colleges. Students must RSVP individually for these events.
Degree Candidacy Process
All students must officially declare their intent to graduate and file an application for degree candidacy. This process will ensure that all courses have been completed and graduation requirements have been met. Processes for filing for degree candidacy vary according to college and major.
Graduation Services Advising
Graduation Services Advisors are responsible for making a final audit of each student's coursework to ensure that all university requirements for the student's degree have been met. Students will work with both their major and graduation services advisors to complete the degree audit, and should initiate the process the semester prior to the intended graduation.
Transcripts Information
Students may request official copies of their UA transcripts through mail, the internet, or in person. Transcript fees apply. Students may contact Diploma Facsimile and Notarization Services in cases where official notarized transcripts are required.
University Learning Center (Graduate School Preparation Services)
The University Learning Center provides fee-based preparation courses for the GMAT, GRE, and LSAT, and also offers practice exams for the GMAT, GRE, and TOEFL.
