Declaring the Major:
Students can declare the Philosophy minor by:
Sending an email the Philosophy advisor for the student’s campus or can schedule an appointment with the advisor.
Main Campus and Arizona Online students can declare the major using the form at https://philosophy.arizona.edu/declare
A minimum of 33 units is required. A minimum of 18 units must be upper division (300-499 level). Minimum 2.00 GPA required. A minor is required for this degree.

*Note: Tier 1 Courses numbered 150, 160, or 170 cannot be used in the PHIL major.
Double Use of Major Course Work:
English, Religious Studies, and Sociology majors may double-dip up to 9 units with the Philosophy major, as long as the courses are cross-listed in both majors.
Classics majors may double-dip up to 10 units with the Philosophy major, as long as the courses are cross-listed in both majors.
Law and PPEL majors may double-dip up to 12 units with the Philosophy major, as long as the courses are cross-listed in both majors.
Care, Health, and Society majors and Neuroscience/Cognitive Science majors may double-dip up to 9 units with the Philosophy major in a dual-degree program.

Double use of courses between the PHIL major and a minor in the same degree is NOT permitted.
PPEL majors may use courses in their PPEL major in a major or minor in a dual degree program.
