The minor in Molecular and Cellular Biology allows students to explore courses from a wide selection. Course work will include introductory biology and then allows for students to take courses with topics such as cancer biology, cell signaling, gene expression, RNA biology, genetic networks, systems biology and genome stability.
Students are required to complete both semesters of introductory biology with labs, MCB 181R, MCB 181L, ECOL 182R, and ECOL 182L; and a minimum of ten additional units of MCB courses. Nine of the remaining ten units must be upper division. Students are allowed to take any MCB course to complete the minor, as long as they meet the prerequisites.
