MINOR ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

The Human Services minor is designed for students working toward a bachelor’s degree who are interested in developing skills necessary to work with people in a variety of professional and personal settings. Coursework focuses on workplace readiness and learning to think critically to solve real-world issues by introducing students to the helping professions, approaches to counseling, and enhancing interpersonal communication. All coursework is grounded in cultural humility and respect for diverse communities.The Human Services minor is designed for students working toward a bachelor’s degree who are interested in developing skills necessary to work with people in a variety of professional and personal settings. Minor Requirements:

Requirements include HUSV 301 (Introduction to Human Services), HUSV 310 (Identity, Positionality, and Cultural Humility), HUSV 347 (Interpersonal Relationships in Human Services), FSHV 401 (Skills in Counseling) and 6 units of Human Services Elective Courses.

Double Use of Minor Course Work:

Courses in this minor cannot be double dipped with any major coursework.
