Wayfinders
The University of Arizona Advising Resource Center (ARC) and the CLAS Advising Center are pleased to announce the launch of Wayfinders, a new advising service to help new students find their way (academic and otherwise)!
Wayfinders are a cohort of college-appointed advising experts who will work as team to help new students learn about academic programs and how to connect with faculty and their academic advisors. They're a group of highly skilled professional academic advisors who serve as ambassadors to the UA advising community and who meet students wherever they are academically – from the student who has settled on a major and wants to discover opportunities, to the student who has come to campus undeclared and wants to find their perfect academic fit, to the student who wants to know which minors or second majors best fit their interests.
All new students know they are in college at the UA. What is less clear is that there are 15 unique colleges, each with their own culture, programs, faculty, advisors, opportunities, and processes for things like declaring a major, adding a minor, or learning more about a program. For the new Wildcat, the scope of choices can be difficult to appreciate and even more daunting to navigate. This is the space in which Wayfinders operate.
