I'm originally from Northern California and hold a bachelor's degree in anthropology from UC San Diego. After a fun couple of years living and working in San Francisco in the pre-dot-com era, I moved to Tucson to pursue my Master of Fine Arts degree in creative writing.

After earning my MFA, I taught at Pima Community College and UArizona. I quickly realized that working one on one with students was my favorite part of these jobs. This led me to the rewarding career of academic advising. I constantly learn from my students and colleagues and am never bored!

Outside of work, I still write a bit and like to make mockumentaries with friends. Mostly, though, I'm busy with and entertained by my two teenagers. I also spend a lot of time lavishing attention on our dog and watching birds, clouds, and trees in our downtown backyard. Much to the annoyance of my husband and kids, I play a bit of Pokemon Go.
