GENERAL EDUCATION

TRANSFER COURSES FOR GENERAL EDUCATION

Guidelines have been established regarding the application of transfer courses, including AP, IB and CLEP credits, to General Education requirements.

 

ACCEPTABILITY OF TRANSFER COURSES TO MEET GENERAL EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS

Transfer courses may be applied to General Education requirements in accordance with the underlying principles of the General Education program.

 

ARIZONA GENERAL EDUCATION CURRICULUM (AGEC)

The Arizona community colleges and UA have agreed upon a common structure for a general education core curriculum. This common agreement is called the Arizona General Education Curriculum (AGEC).

 

ADVANCED PLACEMENT (AP) PROGRAM

AP classes are offered in select high schools. Credits earned through AP exams may be counted toward major or minor fields of study or General Education requirements.

 

INTERNATIONAL BACCALAUREATE (IB) PROGRAM

The International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme is offered in select high schools and leads to exams which can be used to qualify for college credit.

 

COLLEGE-LEVEL EXAMINATION PROGRAM (CLEP)

The examinations offered under the CLEP were designed primarily to allow people to achieve college-level credit for knowledge acquired through self-education and experience.

 

CAMBRIDGE INTERNATIONAL

Cambridge International Examinations (CIE) Advanced-AS- and A-level-scores.
