FOR STUDENTS

POLICIES AND PROCEDURES

As with any large organization, policies and procedures are in place to guide our interactions within the institutional framework. The Academic Catalog is the primary and official source for all degree programs and requirements as well as institutional policies and procedures. Some policies and procedures, however, are defined and administered by individual colleges and departments. Students are responsible for following all policies but are encouraged to seek assistance from their academic advisors whenever questions arise.

The academic catalog outlines the majority of policies and procedures of the UA, including all formal policies and procedures. The Advisement Report which lists the degree requirements for each major and minor program is found in the catalog.

Below are links to guides and policies that may be needed.

Academic Eligibility
  • The Undergraduate Academic Eligibility Policy is designed to help undergraduates stay on track for degree completion at the University of Arizona and is calculated for all undergraduate students at the end of each fall and spring semester.

  • The five academic statuses determine eligibility to enroll in courses at the University; however, they do not determine eligibility to enroll in specific programs, schools, or colleges. Students who are not in Eligible status who earn grades in winter or summer term or have revisions to their academic record that updates their cumulative GPA to 2.00 or higher will return to Eligible status.
Academic Renewal

Allows elimination of up to three semesters from GPA calculation under specific circumstances.
