Interview with Study Abroad

In this video, Alex Romero (Academic Advisor and Wayfinder) sits down with Mariah Nunes (Curriculum Integration Manager at the Study Abroad Office) to discuss opportunities for studying abroad, cost and funding options, and who students should speak with about finding the right program that fits seamlessly with their degree track.

Main Points:

  • Study abroad is an opportunity to take courses towards your degree requirements in another country, while improving your intercultural competence, expanding your worldview, and gaining new perspectives on your education.

  • Students can choose from over 60 study abroad programs around the world, including faculty-led programs and Global Tracks tailored to specific majors.

  • Studying abroad can be very affordable, with many of our programs charging regular UArizona tuition and allowing you to use your financial aid and scholarships.

  • To get started, meet with a study abroad peer advisor or schedule an appointment with a study abroad coordinator to talk about program options, scholarship opportunities, application assistance, and study abroad events.

  • The Study Abroad Team always recommends you connect with your academic advisor to plan ahead and learn about ways you can integrate studying abroad into your degree plan!
