PROFESSIONAL ORGANIZATIONS AND RESOURCES
Professional organizations and resources exist at both the university and national level. Advisors are encouraged to take advantage of these resources in order to enhance their professional development, gain knowledge about innovative advising practices, and boost a sense of community among advisors.
National Academic Advising Association (NACADA) | NACADA, the premier national advising organization, provides professional development opportunities through national and regional conferences, online resources, and numerous publications. Academic Advising Council (AAC) | Each college appoints a AAC representative who, along with an ASUA student representative and the Director of the Advising Resource Center, meet regularly to consider all issues relevant to academic advising. In addition, the charge of AAC is to guide the implementation of the recommendations brought forward by the Academic Advising Task Force. |
University Professional Advising Council (UPAC) | UPAC, the UA's campus-wide advising organization, serves all UA advisors and student services professionals.
