UPAC, the UA's campus-wide advising organization, serves all UA advisors and student services professionals. UPAC provides professional development opportunities and updates on the latest information about policy and services on campus. All advisors are encouraged to attend UPAC's monthly meetings and to join the UPAC listserv.
UPAC serves the UA advising community by upholding it's four-pronged mission statement.
THE PURPOSE OF THE UNIVERSITY PROFESSIONAL ADVISING COUNCIL (UPAC) IS FOURFOLD:
- To provide professional support and development through a campus-wide network of academic advisors: for discussion of issues and concerns common to all advisors, and for continuing education on advising-related topics.
- To exchange information on various College advising services so that effective referrals can be made and accurate information can be given to students.
- To serve as a consulting group to the University administration on advising issues and to promote improvement of the academic advising system on campus in accordance with The University of Arizona Academic Advising Task Force, 2001.
- To strengthen the network of academic advisors among Arizona colleges and universities in order to increase the visibility and voice of professional advisors in higher education statewide.
UPAC traditionally meets on the second Wednesday of the month, from 8:30am-10:00am, and are currently on Zoom.
